The IncoNet Family

FP7 places a new emphasis on international research collaboration and provides a wider range of opportunities for international collaboration. In the Capacities programme there will be support for a range of activities to strengthen research capacity in the European scientific community and other regions of the world. Three initiatives will be supported: INCO-NETs, Bilateral Coordination and ERA-NETs. INCO-NETs will support international collaborations across FP7 with partner regions: Western Balkans; Mediterranean; Eastern Europe and Central Asia; Latin America; Subsahara-Africa and South East Asia.

INCO-NETs are platforms bringing together policy makers and stakeholders of one target region with the EU to:

  • establish a dialogue to identify S&T priorities for mutual benefit and interest and define cooperation policy scenarios
  • implement specific activities to promote and contribute to the participation of the targeted regions/countries in the Framework Programme.
  • CAAST-NET

    CAAST-NET

CAAST-Net’s goal is to promote and facilitate an increase in the quality and quantity of EU-Africa cooperation in science and technology, primarily, although not exclusively focusing on greater use of the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme, and aiming for greater synergy between R&D and development cooperation instruments such as the EDF. To achieve this goal, CAAST-Net will support and inform the existing EU-Africa S&T policy dialogue and cooperation processes.
