Workshop in the field of "Transport" to identify future SICAs - Results

NIP Ukraine organized a workshop on Sustainable Surface Transport titled “Identification of Topics of Mutual EECA – EU Interest in the Field of “Sustainable Surface Transport” to be considered under the EU 7th Framework Programme” within the frame of the IncoNet EECA project. The results of this workshop are now available.

Aim and content:

The workshop aimed to bring together stakeholders from the scientific community of the East European and Central Asian countries (EECA)  and of the EU Member States and Associated Countries to

• identify research topics of EECA – EU mutual interest addressing, at the same time, the strengths and needs of the EECA countries;
• provide input to the European Commission and the Transport Programme that could be used to define Specific International Cooperation Activities (SICA) to be included in the future Transport Work Programmes.
  

Sustainable Surface Transport was selected as the main topic of the Workshop, focusing, in particular, on:

• rail transport;
• road transport with emphasis on infrastructure and freight transport
