The Brokerage Event on Energy was organised by the National Information Centre within the frame of the IncoNet EECA project. It was held in Kyiv, Ukraine, on 19-20 October 2010 at the National Technical University "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute"
With the aim to facilitate an exchange of project ideas in the field of Energy, create a foundation to develop partnerships, and discuss envisaged projects consortia, the event targeted a wide spectrum of researchers, research institutions and companies based in the Member States, Associated Countries and East European and Central Asian countries interested in sharing new project ideas and establishing collaboration partners.
As a result 67 researchers from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Moldova, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine and Uzbekistan (in total 15 countries) enjoyed the opportunity to:
The Brokerage Event programme included presentations on the IncoNet EECA project, on possibilities within ERA-WIDE calls provided by the Commission, on objectives and activities regarding the implementation of the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) and on the Work Programme on Energy for 2011 Calls.
Upon presenting the analysis of EECA participation in FP7 the networking efforts of the Energy researchers were supported by providing an opportunity of more “topical” communication within the following sessions: “Renewable electricity generation (photovoltaic/wind energy). Renewables for heating and cooling”; “CO2 capture and storage technologies for zero emission power generation. Clean coal technologies”; “Energy efficiency and savings”. 26 presentations were made at sessions which ended by face-to-face meetings at which the participants discussed scientific results and trends and open issues of the Energy area.
The Brokerage Event organisers were pleased to receive a ‘Thank you very much’ feedback which meant that their efforts had not been in vain.
